At age four I had a severe stuttering so I began therapy with Tarana. I remember that we recited the pictures, texts and books. And I remember my resistance. I didn't want to study, I argued, cried. For me, 4y.o. child, it seemed difficult and unnecessary. But my mother was persistent - she studied with me every day, monitored my speech and corrected it. After six months I completely got rid of stuttering, began speak fluently, without internal tension, and without fear of starting a sentence. I didn't yet understand how much this would impact my future.

In the first year of university I got a job as sales manager. My first job was directly dependent on my speech and communication skills. Then I became the head of the sales department, then - the commercial director.

I graduated from Bauman Moscow State Technical University with a degree in engineering business and management. I also graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations with a degree in international commerce. Later I defended my PhD thesis in economics.

Currently I am professor at leading universities in the country, speak at conferences, forums, and exhibitions, and am a member of the International Speakers Association.

Since 2015, I've been consulting with entrepreneurs: I work with them as a mentor and business coach, helping them develop their companies and strengthen their management teams.

My entire professional career has been built and directly related to speech, communication, and the ability to clearly express my thoughts. I am sincerely grateful to Tarana and to my mother for helping me gain freedom in speech.

Something scared me in kindergarten, and I began to stutter. As a child, I could barely speak, and I was very self-conscious about it. Despite this, I dreamed of becoming an actor and acting in films. My parents tried to help me, sought out specialists, and took me to consultations.

My mother brought me to Brain Institute where Tarana worked, when I was a 21-year-old student. The first three weeks were the hardest—I was learning to pronounce the sound «T» without stuttering. Then I did exercises for my lips, tongue, and throat, and retold texts. In parallel with exercises and retellings I had to overcome fear of speaking. For this, I had to speak with passers-by on the street and ask them the time. After a month, I was able to do this.

The tasks became more difficult, and the questions I asked passers-by changed. I had to talk with salespeople in stores and markets and ask them about their wares.

Finally, we got to the point when I should ask some girl what time it is. I tried this for three weeks, but nothing worked. One winter evening, after five unsuccessful attempts at talking to girls, I called Tarana and told her I was having trouble. She came over, and together we approached people, asked questions, and I overcame my fears.

My mother was by my side the whole time. She helped me during speech therapy, controlled my speech.

With each passing week, my speech became easier. Finally, with nothing holding me back, I was able to move closer to my dream and enrolled in Drama school. Then I went to Hollywood to continue my acting education. That's where I started acting and then eventually directed films myself. I am grateful to my parents and Tarana for helping me realize my dream.

My name is Eugenia; I am a lawyer and mediator. I stuttered since I was 3 years old. I sought treatment for it at 13, then at 16, but I didn't lead to a full recovery. I returned to the problem at 40, when stuttering became an obstacle to my career advancement. The therapy takes time, willpower, and motivation. I practiced retelling texts and exercises for my tongue, jaw, and lips. They proved very effective in reducing the severity of my speech spasms. I worked on my voice, breathing, and overcoming my fear of speaking. Now I still have some slight stuttering episodes during public speaking, which I continue to struggle with. I don't regret dedicating almost three years to stuttering treatment. I can fully realize my potential in my profession, I have no barriers to communication, and I feel myself a winner.

I stuttered since childhood, and my parents always sought and tried various treatments for me. I met Tarana when I was a psychology student at Moscow State University. By this time, I had been undergoing medication treatment twice a year for several years, but without any results. I remember that at our first meeting, I still couldn't pronounce some words, so I had to write them down. Tarana advised me to stop taking medication and start behavioral therapy. My parents and grandmother supported me, working with me every day and controlled my speech.

It was very difficult for me to combine my study at the university with work and stuttering therapy. But I succeeded. This period of my life made me realize how strong and endurant I am.

Now I'm a practicing psychologist, and I have to communicate a lot. Thanks to dedicating about a year to speech therapy, I developed my linguistic abilities. Now I can find the right words, persuade peoples, and influence people's lives.

I'm grateful to my family for their help and to Tarana for her professionalism!

My daughter started stammer at age three. First, I didn't pay attention on her speech disturbances, but it progressed and in 3 week I discovered that she stutters.

Because I started working with Tarana two weeks after the stuttering onset, we only had to work with her for a month. I recounted fairy tales and stories with her, asked questions, and corrected her answers. The hardest part was monitoring her speech and correcting sentences with errors. She had a few stuttering episodes after the sessions ended, but we corrected them all. Two years have passed, and there have been no relapses. Now I continue to develop her speech by retelling fairy tales and stories.

I want to express my deep gratitude to Dr. Tarana Nabieva!

My son Dani started stuttering at the age of 4. We were advised to see a stuttering therapist, and we got her contact from one of my friends (her daughter had the same issues with stuttering).

Dr. Tarana offered us the treatment based on her own methodological approach which includes two directions: eliminating pathological muscle activity and speech development.

After 6-month period of the routine homework, weekly sessions, we finally got overcome this defect of speech. More than 10 years have passed, Dani speaks fluently and free.

Thanks to Dr. Tarana for her professionalism, comprehensive approach, attention to details, and great result!

I started stuttering at age two. A year later, my mother found Tarana. We began therapy together with my older sister, who also stuttered. Mom later told me I didn't want to go, and she had to carry ice cream for motivation to every session.

Naturally, like any little kid, I resisted, was capricious, and didn't want to repeat words and sentences. But my mother knew how important this was for my future and was very persistent. I completely cured of stuttering in three months. I'm now 36, and I've never had a relapse.

I turned to Tarana for a second time when my four-year-old son started stuttering. We worked for two months until his stuttering completely disappeared. He's now nine years old, a very smart boy with excellent speech and logic. Thanks to Tarana's sessions, he learned to retell stories and express his thoughts and feelings. These skills are now helping him greatly in school. I'm grateful to Tarana and my mother for changing my life.

My son and I started working with Tarana when he was 5 years old. He had a speech delay, and by then he only spoke three words (mama, voda, dai).

He's now 11. He's an intelligent and well-behaved boy; he can speak, read, and write in his native Russian. Because we live in a country where education is bilingual, he attends an English-language school, but he understands and speaks a little Spanish. I'm happy and proud of his achievements.

My oldest daughter Liza started stuttering at age 3 with no apparent reason. Before that she had no speech problems at all — she began talking early and by age 2 could recite Korney Chukovsky's "Muha Tsokotukha" entirely from memory. We immediately went to a speech therapist at a Moscow clinic and began doing all the exercises they recommended. We were then referred to a speech therapy kindergarten where Liza worked individually with a specialist every day. Despite all this, the stuttering was getting worse — she was already struggling to begin pronouncing words.

At age 5, Liza completed a course of treatment aimed at eliminating stuttering at the Shklovskiy Center for Speech Pathology and Neurorehabilitation in Moscow. For a month she attended daily sessions with various specialists: a speech therapist, a neurologist, a psychiatrist, and a physical therapist. The medication-assisted treatment brought improvement, but within a month all the stuttering problems returned to their original level. The time came to start first grade. The school's speech therapist, who considered herself a specialist in stuttering, worked with Liza individually, but I saw no improvement. The teacher tried to avoid calling her out in the classroom to answer questions.

Our second daughter was growing up. With horror, I noticed stuttering in her too — as it later turned out, it was unconscious imitation. We did not give up and kept looking for different treatment methods and different specialists. Fortunately, an acquaintance of mine gave me Tarana's contact information and told me how 20 years earlier she had successfully treated her severely stuttering son, who later went on to brilliantly graduate from the biology faculty of Moscow State University.

Sessions began with both daughters (aged 8 and 5) with Tarana using her own method: once a week in person, daily at home independently (approximately 2 hours per day), strictly following all requirements and recommendations, with constant monitoring of stuttering 24/7. The younger daughter was cured of stuttering in 1 month; with the older one we worked for another 3 months until full recovery.

Liza was freed from stuttering and began to speak fluently, easily and at length — because during the intensive sessions with Tarana she had greatly expanded her active vocabulary. From 2nd grade onward she successfully represented her class in school poetry recitation competitions and various olympiads. Both girls are doing excellently at a physics and mathematics lyceum, take part every year in scientific school and city conferences, speak before large audiences, answer questions from listeners, and perform in school plays.

We are so happy for their success. It was not easy, but I was confident we would succeed.

Having seen the successful example of both my daughters being cured from stuttering, I am convinced of the effectiveness of Tarana's work. When I see people who stutter, I always share my experience and tell them about Tarana — I want them to be free of this condition too. I consider it one of the greatest gifts of my life to have met this wonderful, wise woman, who not only helped my girls speak freely, but has also become my mentor.
